ELECTION FOR IADT BOARD OF DIRECTORS |
|
|
|
The members of the IADT have just completed casting their votes for
members of the Board of Directors. It took place for the most
part electronically; a few members without email access received
ballots by regular mail. The voting took place during the month June 10
to July 10 and determined the composition of the Board that will be
serving from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2011.
The Board consists of 15 members: 4 officers (President,
President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer, and Immediate-past President) and
11 members. Each member can serve up to 2 terms of 2 years for a total
of 4 years on the Board. Directors who are elected by the
Board to serve as officers serve out their terms as officers and may
therefore serve more than 4 years on the Board.
The current officers for the period 2008-2010 are:
Dr. Mitsuhiro Tsukiboshi, Japan – President
Dr. Lars Andersson, Kuwait – President-Elect
Dr. Anthony DiAngelis, USA – Secretary/Treasurer
Dr. Asgeir Sigurdsson, Iceland – Immediate-past President
For the 11 positions available for the Board, we had 18 candidates who
had been nominated by a minimum of 3 members of the IADT. The
slate of candidates was put together by the Nominating Committee under
the leadership of Dr. Alex Moule and subsequently sent out to the
approximately 400 current members of the IADT. By the deadline of July
10 we had received 65 ballots and the following are the 11 Directors
who will be on the Board of Directors for the 2 years 2010-2011 (in
alphabetical order with current Directors identified with an*):
