DENTAL TRAUMA GUIDE
Dr. Jens Ove Andreasen and the International Association of Dental Traumatology take great pleasure in announcing that after intensive testing and development the Dental Trauma Guide is now on-line: http://www.dentaltraumaguide.org.

Together with his staff of coworkers at the University Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark and contributors from other countries, Dr. Andreasen used data collected from treatment records at the Hospital going back several decades to develop the Guide. It is matched with the IADT trauma guidelines that have been available through the IADT website for about 3 years. The purpose of the Dental Trauma Guide is therefore via a visualization of the IADT trauma guide lines to promote the application of treatment procedures which have been documented in clinical and experimental studies to enhance pulp and periodontal healing after trauma.

Along with other organizations that have contributed to the project, the IADT has been a major supporter from the beginning of the development of the Guide, making it possible for Dr. Andreasen to continue with the project. The goal for the construction of this Guide is to provide access to information that will improve dental trauma treatment worldwide.

The Dental Trauma Guide is currently addressing only the permanent dentition; a section on primary teeth is under development. It is expected that as with the trauma guidelines, as new information becomes available, modifications based on current evidence will be made in the Guide.

ELECTION FOR IADT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The members of the IADT have just completed casting their votes for members of the Board of Directors.  It took place for the most part electronically; a few members without email access received ballots by regular mail. The voting took place during the month June 10 to July 10 and determined the composition of the Board that will be serving from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2011.
