          Message from the President

          Picture
Trauma is frequently occurring in all societies and is engaging almost all specialists and general dentists. You cannot avoid getting in contact with trauma cases, either in the emergency phase or later as patients in your daily practice who have been subjected to trauma. For this reason it is important for all of us to be updated in traumatology.

Our association International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) serves as a global association bringing together specialists, general dentists and others who are interested in traumatology from all over the world.

Our mission is to promote optimal prevention and treatment service in the field of traumatic dental injuries to the world. Our target groups are dental and medical colleagues, the public and interested parties in education, sports, industry and appropriate governmental agencies.
We welcome you as member. There are so many advantages to be a member of IADT.
          • As interested in traumatology you are part of a global community and can keep yourself updated and also take a leading role by conveying trauma knowledge and awareness to colleagues and the public in your country.
          • You can enjoy our scientific journal Dental Traumatology in your membership where the latest research in the field of traumatology is published. Dental Traumatology is a Medline indexed scientific world journal and the only journal with focus on dental traumatology.
          • IADT’s International Treatment Guidelines is the international recognized standard for treatment of traumatic injuries to the teeth. These are regularly updated according to evidence based research and clinic by an expert committee. You can find them on our web page and as a free download on Dental Traumatology’s web page, which can be accessed by link from the IADT web page.
          • IADT is arranging biennial world congresses and regional symposiums where you can update yourself in traumatology. Such events are published on the IADT web site.
          • You can also download information material to your patients
          • IADT can also, through our international network, help with scientific arrangements and provide lecturers should you want to arrange a local course activity in traumatology in your country
          • Our latest supported development is the Dental Trauma Guide – a web interactive guide to diagnosis and treatment. This is a great gift to the world where clinicians, wherever they are in the world with access to Internet, can enter information on a traumatic injury and get treatment suggestions and prognosis for the individual case. Try it by a link through our web page – you will like it.
          • Another example of a possible future development is to open a Fellowship in Dental Traumatology for our members

To be able to further develop dental traumatology in the world we need members interesting in traumatology. Please be a member and be a true leader in traumatology in your region by also recruiting other colleagues who are interested in traumatology in your country and other countries. Together we are strong. And do not hesitate to contact us with your ideas for future development of this field.

It is a privilege belonging to IADT, a truly global association, comprising colleagues of most specialties, general dentists and other persons with a common interest in dental traumatology for the benefit of our patients.

          Please be involved!!

          Welcome to IADT
          Lars Andersson
          President
